David Campbell joined Evergy in January 2021 as President and CEO and was appointed Chairman in May 2024. Under Campbell’s leadership, Evergy focuses on providing safe, affordable, and reliable electric service to its 1.7 million customers in Kansas and Missouri. The company’s corporate initiatives and investments target an enhanced customer experience, grid modernization, improved reliability and resiliency, cost competitiveness, and the ongoing transition of the company’s generation fleet. These initiatives support economic development and enable the provision of affordable and regionally competitive rates. As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Buckler leads Evergy’s corporate finance functions, including Treasury, Accounting, Planning, Tax, Internal Audit, Capital Allocation, Investor Relations, and provides oversight and leadership over Supply Chain, Generation Development and Strategy/Long-Term Planning.
Chuck Caisley is executive vice president of utility operations and chief customer officer for Evergy, Inc., an S&P 500 company and electric utility headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Evergy serves more than 1.7 million customers in Missouri and Kansas. Mr. Caisley leads the company’s transmission and distribution operations, customer service, and public affairs areas at Evergy where he has responsibility for the company's community and customer strategy, communications, marketing, economic development, government and regulatory affairs and public relations functions, including oversight of all non-regulated products and services, including small-scale renewable generation, energy products and services platform, energy efficiency and demand response portfolio.
As Sr. Vice president, generation and operations support, John Bridson leads a team overseeing more than 15,000 megawatts of diverse generating capacity, including renewables, coal, gas and oil. Mr. Bridson also serves on the board of the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation, providing oversite for Evergy’s nuclear plant. Mr. Bridson also oversees the power market operations and energy trading functions, as well as the Safety, Training and Operations Technology for all of operations.
Mr. Bridson was senior vice president, generation and marketing with Westar Energy from 2015 to 2018. He joined Westar Energy in 1993 and held several positions with the company, including vice president of generation, executive director of generation, executive director of Lawrence Energy Center, executive director of gas-fired power plants, director of operations, and plant engineer at Jeffrey Energy Center.
Mr. Bridson received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University. He previously served on the board of trustees for the Kansas Children's Service League and he is past chairman of the board for the Powder River Basin Coal Users Group and Kansas Children’s Service League.
As a senior vice president and chief people officer at Evergy, Lesley Elwell leads the human resources organization with an emphasis on talent strategy, employee engagement, organizational development and performance management. She has more than 25 years of experience holding human resources and operations leadership roles for large, publicly-traded companies in consumer and business-to-business industries.
Heather Humphrey leads the legal and compliance divisions of. Ms. Humphrey is responsible for all litigation, regulatory and corporate legal matters as well as compliance and environmental functions.
As vice president, regulatory affairs, Darrin Ives oversees the strategic development and administration of pricing, rates, rules and regulations, revenue requirements, tariff filings, and customer contracts at federal and Kansas and Missouri levels. He also is responsible for ensuring regulatory affairs supports corporate strategies and objectives and satisfies the complex and rigorous requirements of regulatory rules, policies and processes.
As senior vice president and chief technology officer, Charles King leads all IT and security functions spanning corporate and operations applications, cyber and physical security, corporate infrastructure including network, data centers, telephony, field communications, enterprise architecture, project management, testing, help desk, and desktop support. Recent responsibility has included corporate enablement of data/analytics and artificial intelligence.
As Vice President, Corporate Planning and Treasurer, Mr. Ley is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking and analysis.
As vice president and chief nuclear officer of Evergy, Inc. Cleve Reasoner has management responsibility of Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC), a subsidiary of the company, and is responsible for the safe operation of Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
As vice president, customer operations, Julie Dragoo leads the organization’s customer service and customer facing operations functions: customer call center and business solutions, billing services, metering operations, credit and collections, customer data analytics, and other customer support functions. Ms. Dragoo brings a breadth of experience leading operational teams across multiple locations, enhancing financial performance, customer service and fostering a collaborative team environment adaptable to changing business needs.
As vice president, strategy and long-term planning, Zachary Gladhill partners with our executive team to develop and advance our corporate and business strategy and leads the development of the company’s integrated resource plan, transmission and distribution planning and key cross-functional strategic initiatives.
As vice president, chief accounting officer, Mr. Gummig is responsible for leading Evergy’s accounting organization and ensuring strict adherence to SEC, U.S. GAAP, IRS, FERC and other compliance requirements.
As vice president, state and federal regulatory policy, Kevin Gunn manages Evergy’s regulatory relationships in Missouri and oversees federal policy development, including RTO policy. He has unique insight into all aspects of regulatory and governmental affairs, including state and federal regulations, strategic planning and public policy issues. He joined Evergy in 2023.
As vice president of development, Jason Humphrey leads Evergy’s effort to add generation resources to our fleet and finance our business.
As vice president, chief ethics officer and assistant general counsel, Kara Larson champions Evergy’s commitment to achieving a culture of ethics and compliance including investigations and federal regulatory compliance. She is also responsible for Evergy’s contract, commercial, labor and employment, litigation, and nuclear legal work.
As vice president of public affairs for Evergy, Katie McDonald leads the marketing, corporate communications, digital customer experience and community relations departments. She is responsible for leading the development and execution of internal and external communications and marketing strategies, including employee communications, media relations, public advocacy, issues/crisis management, marketing, advertising, branding, digital customer strategy, customer affairs and community relations.
As vice president, distribution, Ryan Mulvany has management responsibility for distribution operations including system operations, construction and maintenance, contracting services, vegetation management, asset management and analytics.
As vice president of talent management and analytics, Tom Sullivan leads human resources, with responsibility for the company’s talent acquisition, leadership development, organization development, human resource information systems, workforce analytics and payroll functions. He joined Evergy in 2021.
As vice president, transmission, Steve Vetsch leads transmission operations, including siting, construction and maintenance, system operations and real estate.
