As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Buckler leads Evergy’s corporate finance functions, including Treasury, Accounting, Planning, Tax, Internal Audit, Capital Allocation, Investor Relations, and provides oversight and leadership over Evergy’s Supply Chain organization.

Prior to joining Evergy, Mr. Buckler served as the Chief Financial Officer at OGE Energy Corp. where within the first three years as CFO, Mr. Buckler deployed and implemented a vision of growth for the company that was co-developed with operational leaders and achieved a total shareholder return at the ~72% percentile of performance. Prior to OGE, Mr. Buckler worked at Duke Energy Corporation for more than 14 years, where he served in various finance leadership roles, including vice president, investor relations as his last position. He began his career at Ernst & Young LLP, where he worked for 11 years.

Since 2023, Mr. Buckler has served as a board member for the American Red Cross in Oklahoma (Southwest and Central) and the American Leadership Forum in Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Buckler graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration – Accounting, and has completed executive leadership programs with professors at UNC Chapel Hill, Harvard, and the Center for Creative Leadership.
