Kevin Gunn
As vice president, state and federal regulatory policy, Kevin Gunn manages Evergy’s regulatory relationships in Missouri and oversees federal policy development, including RTO policy. He has unique insight into all aspects of regulatory and governmental affairs, including state and federal regulations, strategic planning and public policy issues. He joined Evergy in 2023.
Prior to joining Evergy, Gunn served as Executive Director, Regulatory and Political Affairs, Central Region for NextEra Energy Resources implementing legislative and regulatory strategy in a 14 state region, including Missouri and Kansas. He also served as the Principal of Paladin Energy Strategies, advising clients including RTOs and investor owned utilities on all aspects of regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Paladin, Gunn was appointed to the Missouri Public Service Commission in 2008 and named chairman by Governor Jay Nixon in 2011, where he oversaw regulatory matters for investor-owned utilities across the state.
Mr. Gunn currently serves as the Chair of the SSM Foundation Board and is the President-elect of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Mr. Gunn formerly served on the boards of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), Missouri-American Water, the Rainbow Village, the St. Clare Hospital Foundation, the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission and the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association Public Policy Council.
Mr. Gunn received his bachelor of arts in political science from American University in 1992 and earned his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law in 1996.
