As vice president, chief accounting officer, Mr. Gummig is responsible for leading Evergy’s accounting organization and ensuring strict adherence to SEC, U.S. GAAP, IRS, FERC and other compliance requirements.

Mr. Gummig joined Evergy in 2012 and previously served as the Director of External Reporting, Policy and Property Accounting, as well as other positions of increasing responsibility within Evergy’s accounting organization. Prior to joining Evergy in 2012, Mr. Gummig served as an auditor in the assurance practice of Ernst & Young from 2009 to 2011.

Mr. Gummig holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting from Truman State University. Mr. Gummig is also a certified public accountant licensed in Missouri.
